It had been years since I visited Peyto Lake in Banff National Park. I decided to head up one morning, early to take in the views before the tour groups arrived. When I got to the platform there were 4 other people there...two couples. One was from Germany and other were from the US. We all stood there looking out and taking in the pretty views. At one point I said to them "this is pretty special for us to have this place to ourselves". They all agreed. It only took about 15 minutes before the first big group arrived. I love those early mornings when it is just me a a handful of people. It pays to arrive early.
