The Great Horned Owl Diaries
There's a forest near my house that has become a special place for me. It's not a big area and it is easily ignored by many, which has made it the perfect place for a Great Horned Owl to nest. In the spring and early summer of 2024 I observed the first few month two baby Great Horned Owlets and it was incredibly special.
I feel so much gratitude to have watched them grow and get strong before they spread their wings to explore new places. I visited them 33 times over a 3 month period.
I never stayed long, but enough to capture some photos and observe them as they learned to navigate this life.
If you click on each photo, there's a little write up of my encounters for each day.
I know there are some owl fans out there and I hope you enjoy these pictures.
